about me, kevin cox » [email] [kevintcox at google's email service (gmail dot com)]
some facts:
- i am an undergraduate student (a senior?) in nyu's gallatin school of individualized study
- at university, i'm concentrating on 'music and computer science'
- so i take classes in music, music technology, computer science, the WONDROUS ITP, and... elsewhere
- i work full-time as a software developer for nyu housing
- i freelance as a web designer and developer (can't you tell!? ha)
- i'm a musician. i'm an ok guitarist, and i dabble in keys, drums, percussion, cello, harmonica, bells, organ, and reverse wurlitzer
- actually, i play in a laptop combo called freedom and responsibility. sometimes solo too. we don't have a website, but we do under our previous name, double cloud golden age
- i'm also a good sound engineer - i record, mix, etc.
- my website's font looks comically bad in windows. why not use linux, or (better yet) os x?
the electronic prepared piano (why is this here???)
mikey hart and i augmented a grand piano. we had sensors that would pick up on what you were playing, and various actuators that made prepared piano type sounds. it kind of worked.
